Dr. Joyce Harbor grew up the only daughter of Bishop Billy Harbor and Mother Doris Harbor.  This role carried a lot of weight.  Her father, Bishop Billy Harbor, was the founder of St. Mark UHC .  Her mother, Mother Doris Harbor was the oldest child of Mother Lettie Cohen, ‘the pulpit princess’ and musician for many churches. Under this influence, Joyce accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and followed in the footsteps of her family and her Savior.

Joyce answered the call to the ministry in May 2003.  She is a member of the East White Oak Baptist Church where she in December will celebrate 28 years of service to the Music Ministry.  She is the minister of music and Minister of Protocol under the leadership of Bishop Benjamin W. Mittman, Sr. During her tenure, Joyce Harbor has developed other young musicians throughout the triad by providing vocal and instrumental lessons for many years.  Because of her expertise in music, Joyce received the honor of Doctorate in Sacred Music from the International Bible College, in December 2016.

In the community, Joyce took the mantle of SPA (Single Parent Advocates), the ministry started by her father to bless children of single parent households at Thanksgiving and Christmas and has been blessing families in the triad for 30 years.  She believes that her greatest ministry is servitude and proves that as she carries out this ministry and by providing prayer and simple words of encouragement to those she meets daily.

Dr. Harbor-Corley has recorded background vocals for such artists as Shirley Ceasar..Bishop Donnie Graves and others.. She is known for “Keeping it Real” and believes that her life is an example of the simplicity of the life of Christ, taking ordinary people and doing extraordinary things for the glory of God.

After playing and singing for so many others, Dr. Harbor-Corley has made the decision to record her own music with the hopes of ministering to those who feel like all hope is gone.

Joyce is the mother of one daughter, Deja Graves and grandmother of De’Niyah Hairston.  She also has many spiritual children.
